Next on the agenda is another one of these
Malaysia’s beloved chicken rice restaurant chain. My partner was all pouty
since we kept going to new places (totally my fault of course) to eat so to
cheer him up, I suggested that we stop by this place when we’re walking around
the lower ground floor area of the Suria Sabah shopping mall. The multiple franchises
in Sabah were notorious for having snail paced service but we took a chance
after noticing that it’s still pretty early (well, not exactly that early since
it’s already almost noon by the time we were standing in front of the eatery)
and there were barely any customers yet. And our gamble was eventually paid off
since their service was fairly good during that hour. Yup, now there’s a new
tip for you guys right?
I admit that I’m a fan of their ever
changing promotional meals so it’s quite obvious for me to go for their
‘flavour-of-the-month’ which was the Ayam Rangup Berapi meal set. I had high
hopes for it but it turned out to be unremarkable. The fried chickens were cooked
throughout and crunchy but they were also (disappointingly) not that spicy and
portions were quite small. But I still loved their rice since it has this pleasant
after taste and has a nice fragrance to them. The meal set also comes with Bok
Choy in Oyster Sauce (surprisingly good and fresh) and a drink. My partner is a
loyalist through and through so he opted instead for his ‘usuals’ which was the
Prime Honey BBQ Chicken set plus those Nyonya Pai Tee (which he can’t seemed to
get enough off). Nothing differs much and he said that he still
loves the meal as it was before
