ROPI

Apr
30

While we're at it, here's another 'modern kopi2' like place that is currently on the high list of the local coffee-lover crowd (all thanks to social media promos). Like any other cafe, they provide a variety of coffee drinks as well as in house pastries for their customers and so far the ones that I've tried were all quite impressive and definitely above average in terms of tastes. We had the Melbourne Chocolate drink together with some rotiboy buns, cinnamon rolls (Chocolate & Pistachios) and their version of Cake in Bowl and I would say my fave is the latter even though their portioning was quite small. Oh and before I forget, they're located within the Fajar Complex area, on the same row as Strawberry Florist and facing Pate Grill House

Rotiboy Bataras Tawau

Apr
29

Yup, the popular Rotiboy has also made its way to Tawau sometime last year and as expected, Tawau folks were crazy for them at first but now has somewhat grew bored of them (typical!). Here's to hoping that they will last longer here in spite of such situations. FYI they're located within the Bataras Hypermarket, Jalan Chong Thien Vun building, at the far end lot near the side (Garden City) entrance. And yes, my faves are still their Mochaboy bun and the original Rotiboy of course.

Nooodles Tawau Airport

Apr
28

It's always interesting to see tourists crowding this eatery whenever we walked past them on the ground floor of Tawau Airport, right next to the arrival hall. Granted, the airport doesn't exactly offer that much of a choice when it comes to food but the strategic placement of the franchise eatery does contribute to my interest. So me and the family did a quick stop recently (after sending off some family members that we're visiting for the Raya holidays) and tried out their Nasi Goreng Kampung, Meehoon Goreng Singapore, Penang Char Kuey Teow and Fish and Chips. We found the food and service to be good, albeit nothing too special. In fact, the latter dish was pretty dry in my opinion but their kuey teow was quite tasty.

Grace Point Food Court (KK FoodieVenture #244)

Apr
27

Another eatery that I've 'accidentally' left out the other day is this food court at the Sembulan area, right next to Grace Garden Condominiums. Honestly I was impressed by the variety of kiosks that were available on site, both for food and drinks. I mean, they really have different types of food being offered such as porridge, fried chicken, pizzas, seafood shellout dishes, specialty dishes, local pastries and even cakes & baked goods. Moreover the place isn't as crowded as other food courts that I've been to (at least when we were there), probably because of the somewhat secluded area from the main KK town area. We've tried out the Nasi Lemak Berlauk dishes from the Nasi Briyani Pak Yan stall as well as take away some Baby Kunafa & Kunafa Chocolate Bar from Rasa Sweet stall (which I'd totally forgotten to take any pics of the actual kunafa & choco bar - my bad) and the former were tasty indeed. I definitely recommended everyone to try the place out if you're within the area.

Sushi Panda Imago (KK FoodieVenture #243)

Apr
26

Okay so here are one of two quick posts on places that had actually managed to elude my eyes when I was updating about my last KK trip & had only realized it as I went through the pics in my photo gallery 🤦‍♀️

Me and hubby had actually went to the Sushi Panda Imago Shopping Mall kiosk (on the 2nd floor of said mall) and even though my hubby seems to loved them, I personally think that their sushis were just okay both in taste and quality. I liked their Chicken Ham Teriyaki, Cheesy California Roll and Tamago Mentai sushis but the others were just so-so. But if you're looking to munch on something that are not that heavy at wallet-friendly pricing, than try this place out.
