Gurich Kopitiam

I have been to this eatery a couple of times (at the locally popular Kubota Sentral area, formerly the place of Boat Noodle and next to Sage Cafe) and I really like their old school kopitiam vibe as well as food selections. So it baffles me that they seemed to be lacking of customers, as opposed to other similarly concept eateries nearby. It all comes down to personal preferences I guess. We've tried out their Nasi Nyonya Gurich (with Curry Fishball & Chicken Curry on different occasions), Nasi Lemak Gurich with Beef Curry, Hailam Fried Rice and some Chicken Ham Mayo Sandwiches and all were delicious. They also sell traditional kuihs in the morning so you guys should stop by their place if you're around the area.

T-Lot Kopitiam & Galeri

Now before you guys get any ideas, no.. they don't exactly have an actual 'gallery' on site. It was more of an assortment of antique items being displayed here and there (no doubt coming from the owner's personal collection). And since the owner is also a 'big biker' chances of you spotting a group of superbikes within the premise is also pretty high. Food wise, I was keen to try out their Pizza Over Bata (due to previously having seen them being promoted in the local social media apps) and to tell you the truth I was a bit disappointed. My Chicken Pizza (they only have like 3 choices & comes in a single medium size) tasted very floury and I can barely taste anything else including the toppings. But their Nasi Goreng Kampung was more acceptable and the 'yum yum' stall that my husband had tried was also quite okay (although their budget fried mee hoon has the tiniest portion I've ever seen). Oh and before I forget, they're located at Taman Mosaic, Tanjung Batu Laut (right next to the Tawau Navy base).

Onny.Hansik

It's really a shame that this barely a year old Korean fusion eatery will be closing down soon (they'll officially be closed for good at the end of this month). We barely get that many Korean inspired eateries here in Tawau and lo and behold, another one was about to bite the dust. But in the meantime, you guys can still visit them at Kubota Sentral commercial area (right next to Rustique 84) as they are still open for now. Me and my hubby had tried out their Bebola Nasi Cheese (aka onigiri), Kimbap Cheese aa well as Snack Plate (of assorted fried munchies) and all were commendable. Also, the overall ambience was very Kpop-ish, what with the Kpop music & videos being played, as well as similar Kpop decorations being displayed all around (which as an avid Kpopper myself; am not complaining at all)
