Ghazal Kitchen (Semporna FoodieVenture #11)

While we're at it, I might as well put out this review of an eatery that me and my husband went to when we decided to 'jalan-jalan' to Semporna a few weeks back. We went to Semporna on a whim that weekend and as I was flipping through my WhatsApp status, I saw a post made by a friend who'd coincidentally went to this restaurant just a day before. So a quick Waze search later, we'd arrived at the interesting eatery, a bit out of the main road at Jalan Kabongan, Kampung Bubul Lama.

My guess is that the elderly husband and wife owners had built the eatery on their own plot of land (judging by the similar designed house right next to the restaurant) and I'm loving it. It has that inviting feeling upon entry and the menu were pretty impressive. It's just that they were a bit rigid when it comes to modifying their menu items. For example, I was initially interested in ordering their Ghazal Hitam Manis Fried Rice but had to forget about it when they adamantly turned down my request to change the beef to chicken instead. Oh well, the dish that I did had the Ghazal Sibuan Fried Rice was pretty delicious so I'm not too hung up over it. My husband were also pretty satisfied with his orders of the Blackpepper Crabs Rice, Garlic Taiwanese Vegetables and Fried Dumplings, as he said that the dishes were all yummy. The place seems to be more 'alive' during the evenings hence if you're into such atmosphere then it will be advisable for you guys to visit them at such times.
