Master Fishball

Yeah I know.. I should put more effort in updating this blog. But with a lot of things going on right now in my life (and with my somewhat 'inactive' foodie-venture these past MCO months) I'm lucky that I'm still able to do so, even if it is not as often as I would've loved to. 

So here's an eatery that I've been to a few times during the (ongoing) MCO period but didn't get the chance to dine in just yet. It is located at the ever popular Kubota Sentral commercial area at Jalan Chong Thien Vun (right beside the Svok Hotel) and has attracted patrons since the day they'd first opened. My mom is a fan of the place (since mommy dearest loves all things fishball and fishcakes) so I have tapau their Mixed Fish Noodle Soup, Hainam Chicken Rice and Curry Fishballs (I do apologise for the latter's 'missing' photo, as I totally forgot to take one). Personally I think that their food were okay but nothing too distinguishing I'm afraid. I've tried their soupy noodles before and I think that their soup lacks that 'oomph' taste (in my humble opinion la kan). But my mom totally loves their food so I guess it depends on your own taste buds.

Bakso Senario

Now this place has definitely shown their growth throughout the years. From a little known stall called Warung Senario, the place has evolved into Restoran Senario and now Bakso Senario, where they'd opened what appears to be their third (I think?) branch in (where else but) Kubota Sentral commercial area (they're located right at the main entrance connected to Kubota Square, right next to The Yunique Tea).

But here's the thing though. Staying true to their namesake, they're now focusing more on their most popular dish the bakso, so if you're not a fan than I suggest that you went elsewhere to eat. The only non-bakso food on their menu were the gado-gado and martabak jawa (which was not available at said branch when I was dining there). And because I was (sadly) one of those non-bakso fan but still curious as hell about the place, I went for their gado-gado instead. Thankfully it was actually delicious, with a very tasty peanut sauce to boot. I'll probably muster up the 'courage' to try their bakso one of these days so stay tuned for that folks!
