BB.Q Chicken T2@Apas

Once upon a time (that 'time' being around 6 years ago) this franchise has attempted to spread their wings to Tawau, but was met with lacklustre responses. So I was very surprised when I saw that someone has brought it back to Tawau sometime this year, at the T2@Apas commercial area no less. Me and my hubby decided to check out what's new with the franchise so I've tried their Kimchi Ramen and it was like any other instant ramen in the market nowadays but with more ingredients and spicier taste. Not bad actually but nothing new about it. Also after going through the menu, my hubby still opted for their Jerk Grilled Chicken and he said it was still quite nice. To be honest, I'm not sure just how long the franchise will last this time around but let's hope they will stay longer than their predecessor

Papa Dessert

Another underrated eatery that I think should have been given more attention by locals is this primarily dessert shop. Located just beside the more popular Acteasan  within Kubota Sentral, I came to know about them via Foodpanda (yup, guilty of spending way to much time & money on said app and its other counterpart). So I was curious as what would it be like dining in instead so me and my hubby decided to have our dinner there one day. Yes, even though they mainly served desserts, they do have a few heavier food on the menu such as the Chicken Bolognese and Tomyam Chicken with rice that we've tried. Both we commendable dishes I might add, along with their Chocolate Moist Cake, Coconut Signature Pudding + Lalufa and Chocolate Pudding that I loved. Recommended to those that especially loved jelly and pudding type of desserts.

Saranghae Korean Street Food

Okay okay, back to my regular programming yes? So I've actually ordered from this Korean inspired place several times via Foodpanda but had only recently dined in due to an 'errand' nearby (they're located on the 1st floor of T2@Apas commercial area, right on top of Daily Coffee). And due to a misunderstanding with their menu (which was mainly my fault) I've ordered 2 rice based dishes (I know.. super dumb) the Kimchi Bokkeumbap and Sausage Gimbap. Although both were actually very flavourable and delicious, a double dose of rice was just ridiculous in my part. But thankfully I have their Pickled Radish to get me through, since I absolutely loved the side dish. But they have recently added some local dishes to their menu if you're not into all things Korean (which their lovely pinkish decor seems to show prominently).

The Bretzel Co (KK FoodieVenture #225)

A friend of mine has been raving about this relatively new kiosk on the 3rd floor of Suria Sabah shopping mall even since she had gotten back from KK last week, so I figured it wouldn't hurt to try them as well. And since my hubby is a fan of pretzels, it was obvious that he would order their Chocolate Bretzel Stix and Chocolate Bretzel to go. I was leaning more towards their rotiboy type of buns so I decided to take on their Coffee Bun and Chocolate Bun and was a bit surprised to find the former was without any filling (or was it supposed to be like that?). But both were still yummy though. I also took a bite out of my hubby's pretzels and they were okay tasting to me, nothing too spectacular I'm afraid.

Borneo Satay (KK FoodieVenture #224)

My hubby was suddenly hit with a craving for satays during our most recent trip to KK and so after a quick Google searching here and there, we decided to make our way to Lintas Square (they're on the last row of the commercial area, on the same row as 1863 Patisserie) and have our lunch there. Even though we were the first customers to arrived, they did take a considerable amount of time to prepare our orders. But I have to admit that it was worth the wait as their Chicken & Beef Satays as well as Nasi Goreng Bunga Kantan, Nasi Goreng Telur Mata and Kulit Ayam Goreng Crispy were delicious. Their satays were thick and juicy and I also like the fact that they added sambal and fried anchovies and nuts to go with their fried rice. And their portioning were quite big as well so we were satisfied despite the long wait.
