Chagee Suria Sabah (KK FoodieVenture #190)

Last but not least, I have some time to kill while waiting for my night flight back to Tawau, so I decided to roam around Suria Sabah, since it is within walking distance from my hotel. I was a bit surprised to see a bubble milk tea like store take root at the McDonald's side entrance to the mall. And since me and my course roommate needed a place to sit for a bit (she's actually from KK but decided to join me for lunch before going back home herself) I decided to order their Jasmine Peach Tea and Fresh Watermelon Jasmine Tea (since both of us had heavy lunches before and were not in the mood for any actual milk tea). My drink (the former) was quite good but fairly typical tasting. My roommate seems to enjoy hers as well so I think it was okay. I was also intrigued by their separate, across-the-road type of seating area; which was a good idea since it gives ample space for patrons to relax and enjoy their drinks without being bothered by other customer's ordering and waiting for their drinks.

Wagon Imago (KK FoodieVenture #189)

After my Hazukido stop, I thought that I had enough late night snacks for the day but as it turns out, there is still room in my tummy for an American styled hotdog. Also located on the lower ground floor of Imago shopping mall, within the sea of food kiosks (they're in front of the the Teppanya branch); I had always had my eyes on them especially when I read about them through an FB post. So I said 'why not' and had gone for their Grilled Cheese and Mushroom 17 hotdogs respectively (and no, I'm not eating for two.. my roommate also wanted to try them out). Mine was the latter and I think it was pretty tasty and savoury; kind of reminds me of A&W's legendary hotdogs. There are other rice and fries combos that are available within the menu that I will probably try out during my next KK trip so watch this space.

Hazukido Imago (KK FoodieVenture #188)

Since I was in KK for a short work related course, I didn't get to visit any new eateries (since I mostly ate at the course's venue). But I did managed to go to Imago with what little time I had (I mean... stopping by Imago whenever I went to KK is an absolute must for me) and decided to grab whatever munchies that I could find for my late night eats.

It's almost impossible for anyone not to be curious whenever you see the line right in front of this place. Thankfully the line wasn't that long when I was passing by (on the lower ground floor of Imago, formerly the candy store Sticky) so I decided to try them out. Mind you, I'm not exactly a fan of crossaints but the 'psycho lure' is strong in this one 😅 And I was slightly disappointed that they're out of any chocolate flavored crossaints so I went with their Seaweed Croissant, Premium Durian Custard Croissant and Taro and Pudding Croissant instead. Personally I like their simple, flavoured croissant more since the pastry was softer than I initially thought and quite savoury. The cream filling ones were good actually, not too sweet and tasted pleasant enough but for some reason I'm still not a fan of. Oh well, at least my curiosity has been satisfied right?

Outward Vacay: Hotel Capital

Okay so I recently went for a short work related course in KK and just can't resist taking some pics (yes, with my puny secondary phone) of the hotel that I'm staying at. I'd always noticed this eye-catching rainbow coloured building even when I was staying somewhere else within the Gaya Street area (they're right across the street to the Wisma Merdeka shopping mall and within short walking distance to Suria Sabah). So I was glad that my company had 'sponsored' my stay there (I'm claiming the heck out of this) so I can finally satisfy my curiosity of the place.

The hotel itself is your typical boutique hotel, with a small but functional lobby area. Staff were pleasant throughout and check in was smooth (FYI, they do ask for a deposit upon check in which was around RM150 during my stay). And I was happy that they'd given me a room facing the mall since I really like looking down and seeing people just go about their daily lives. The room was also spacious, clean and prettily designed. Kind of old school vibe (then again they had been around longer than most of the hotels within the area) but is still well maintained. I really enjoyed my stay there but if you're bringing a vehicle, parking might be a challenge since there's limited public parkings nearby and very hard to get since the area is congested most of the time (because the hotel is located right next to a busy traffic light intersection). Also, they shared their ground floor area with that of popular local Italian restaurant Little Italy, so do expect a lot of people coming and going especially during peaks hours.

Type - Standard Room

Room - 5/5 (very comfortable room with decent tv channels)

Price - 4/5 (got a good price from Agoda)

Service - 4/5 (again, no complaints)

Decor - 4/5 (loving the hanging lamp decor)

Facilities - 4/5 (oh and if you wanted to use the bathroom while in the lobby, you need to go to the 1st floor to actually get there)

Location - 4/5 (a really strategic but busy area - that's all I can say)

Sad news y'all...

Guys, I'm currently in mourning over my bad luck late last month; I had to reset my laptop because of a virus attack (which means all of my intended blog pics had been wiped out.. yes, TOTALLY wiped out) and my phone's accidental 'dive' into my washing machine (hence there goes my backup pics as well) 😭😭 So unfortunately I had to start from scratch since I had zero materials for now. And since I'm using my spare phone (which only had basic specs) to take new pics, do expect them to be of lower quality until I bought a new one. So do be patient with me okay.. 😌😌🥲
