T'Juana House

Finally I'm getting much better after weeks of health issues (thankfully not Covid19 related) so here I am writing yet another review for y'all. Although I've frequented this restaurant with my mom these past weeks (formerly a steamboat joint appropriately named Daily Q Steamboat) the pictures below were actually taken pre MCO (and by that I mean the previous CMCO, not the current phase 2).

Just to refresh your memories, the restaurant is located at Jalan Sungai Tajong, right next to the somewhat new Servay Hypermarket (Jalan Air Panas branch). The restaurant has a pretty extensive, big restaurant like menu when it comes to dinner but I haven't tried them out during said time of the day yet. Usually me and my mom went there for lunch, where they provide an assortment of pre-cooked dishes instead. The Nasi Campur combo that we had were quite delicious and fully flavoured; probably one of the reasons why we often go there right after shopping for groceries nearby.

Korea Town Family Restaurant

Let me be honest. If it wasn't for all of these MCOs, I might not be as into all things Korean as I'm now. Don't get me wrong though, I was a fan of Kpop way before Covid19 spread but there was just something about being cooped up inside the house and watching Korean content constantly that suddenly made me a super fan 😉.

That being said, I was obviously thrilled when I found out that a fully Korean cuisine restaurant has opened on the 1st floor of 1Arena commercial area (right on top of Gold Tea and was formerly rented by an eatery from my previous post). It was said that the eatery started off as a small stall in Sin Onn market but has since moved to its current place. I probably went there solo a handful of times during the previous CMCO and had tried out their Kimchi Fried Rice, Chicken Gimbap, Kimchi Gimbap and Kimchi Pancake. Their fried rice and gimbap were pretty okay but I absolutely loved the pancake. It might be a bit pricey (in fact, most of their menu items were on the above average pricing range) but to me, it was well worth it. The portion was big for a single person and it has a nice balance of sweet, sour and spicy. I'm interested in trying out their other food but then the current MCO happened so I guess I have to wait a bit for that to happen.
