First and foremost...

Thank you so much for visiting this humble blog of mine. I'll try to give you guys some good reviews on the local food & sceneries especially from my hometown (yay Tawau, Sabah) so please bear with me ok 😊

Oh and just so you guys know before proceeding...

a) I never travel abroad - so you won't be seeing any posts outside of our beloved country (yet!)

b) I take all of my pictures with my smartphone - so no professionally taken photos here as well (sad but true)

c) I dined using my own moolah - so my comments are somewhat unbias (for now)

d) I have this ongoing problem with my internet at home so I can only go online at work (the 'perks' of living at the bottom of a hill)- so I'm sorry beforehand for any comments that cannot be reply timely (my bad)

e) I don't mind if you guys wanted to use any of my pictures - just as long as you credit this blog as well ok 👍

Also due to my own carelessness, I've accidentally deleted most of the photos that I've uploaded to Google Album Archive a few years back. Thankfully I found a way to recover most of them (but not all I'm afraid) albeit in a much lower resolution & quality. So if you're viewing my past posts and there seems to be missing photos from them, I do apologized beforehand for that. I'll try to update them with newer photos should I drop by said places again in the future. So sorry folks... 😢😢😢

Ming's Oriental Garden City

It always makes me wonder as we passed by the Garden City at Jalan Chong Thien Vun on our way to Bataras Hypermarket, as to why they hadn't rented out the closed Sage Cafe branch there, as the place was very strategic (they're at the front row of the building, right next to a KFC branch & facing Han's Bakery). It turns out, the owners had an idea to revamped not just the place but the menu as well; which I think is a good idea since people seems to be into the whole kopitiam scene as of late. I went there twice with both my parents & hubby and they loved the place and its food as all were delicious and flavourful. My hubby even swore by their Roti Canai + Curry as he said it ranked among the best in town. Well.. That's according to him anyway so you guys should try them out yourselves. Oh but a little reminder to everyone to bring cash since the restaurant does not provide any cashless services at the moment (at least at the time of our visits).

Yeah Idea

Since I'm on a roll, I'll just squeeze in another short review before I (may or may not) go into my busy mode again (sigh). It somewhat amuses me to find that this place (click HERE and HERE to see the location from my previous posts) has actually gone through not one but 3 new ownership phases in the span of 3 years. And for some reason, even with different takeovers, the main theme of the place remains the same which centers around coconuts and palm trees. Nevertheless we tried them out recently and found the food were pretty delicious but somewhat familiar. Don't know if they are related but some of the dishes resembles those from Pate Grill House. But then again it doesn't take away from their yummy tastes and even refreshing with all those coconut inspired drinks and soft served.

Kedai Kopi Yum Yum

Been SUPER busy last month and with almost no time to go out, But then again, I did say 'almost' right? 

So I did went for a light dinner with my hubby at a nearby 'yum yum' restaurant recently. And by nearby, I meant at Jalan Datuk Abu Bakar Titingan, just behind the SM Islamiah building. They actually moved from their original shop at Fajar Complex (where they have been since 1993) early this year and had maintain the good quality of their main 'yum yum' products, as seen by their loyal customers still flocking to their shop everyday. Mind you, they also sell breakfast food such as Nasi Kuning and other local kuihs in the morning (from outside vendors) as well as some local dishes like Nasi Lalap & Nasi Ayam Penyet available till the evening.
