Here's a recap on our stopover at Lahad Datu on our way back from our most recent trip to KK (yup, we drove back again to Tawau this time around). My partner got hungry again as we stopped to refuel our vehicle so we decided to drove into the nearby Bandar Sri Perdana commercial area (akin to the Fajar Complex area in Tawau) for an early dinner. There aren't that many shops that were open for some reason (well it was probably because of Mr Covid) so we drove around the surprisingly large commercial area for sometime before choosing this place to eat (they're located at the older part of the area & facing the back of My Inn Hotel+Servay Hypermarket - because I think there's a part of that 'bandar' that looks newer called D'Perdana Square?)
I can't lie though, the main reason why we picked this restaurant was because it was the only eatery that seems to be crowded with patrons (and oddly others nearby were not - like seriously). So our logic was that if the locals came flocking then it must be the place to be right? We were lucky to even get a table (one family had just left when we arrived - yup, lucky us). The eatery provides what typical multi menu chicken rice shops usually offers. Service was slow because they were short-handed but surprisingly their kitchen staff dishes out the orders faster than expected so no big issues there. And as customers seems to be coming and going, most of their menu items were unavailable so we had to make do with their Nasi Ayam Biasa and Nasi Goreng Kampung, with a Mixed Vegetables dish on the side. We actually found them to be quite flavorous but typically tasting dishes so we do not get the hyped surrounding them though. But then again, what do 2 Tawaurians just passing through know about local LD tastes right?
