Subway Tawau

Let me tell you guys that I was over the moon when Subway finally made its way to Tawau sometime late last year. They're located within the 1Arena Commercial Centre at Jalan Chong Thien Vun but I have been regularly using GrabFood services whenever I felt like having their sandwiches (which no joke, probably at least once a week) since they're quite far from where I'm staying. Nevertheless I did tried out a bunch of their sandwiches (mostly their 6 inches) and my faves thus far are their Curry Chicken, Veggie Delite, BBQ Chicken Strips and Bulgogi Chicken. Taste wise everything was definitely tasty but portioning of its ingredients differ from time to time (sometimes the insides were just overflowing while other times you could probably count them with one hand). Their cookies were also soft and chewable (especially their Double Chocolate and Oatmeal Raisin variety) but a tad too sweet for my liking.

RJ Cafe & Catering

Finally I have some time to update this blog today after what seems to be an endless wokload at work. So with that said, here's a Malay restaurant located within Kampung Pasir Putih (and I really do mean 'within' since it is located not far from the SMK Pasir Putih school) that I've been to a few times (since it is also not far from my home). Their menu mainly consists of a widd range of your typical local dishes and most of them were pretty delicious too. But I do like to highlight the fact that they're currently very understaff so do expect a somewhat chaotic and slow service (especially if you decided to drop by during peak hours). Also, they do have 2 upper floors available for private functions and dinners should you're looking for somewhere new to have such events.

U-Tea Tawau 2.0

Here's a quick update on this bubble tea franchise (located within Kubota Sentral). They'd only introduced in-house meals sometime during the MCO (or a little before it started if I'm not mistaken) so now you can have tasty food together with their drinks. The Sweet & Sour Chicken Rice and Grilled Chicken Burger that me and my husband had were definitely delicious although it does took a bit of a time to be prepared so do be warned.

Also do check out my previous featured posts on bubble tea shops around Tawau..

Sizzle Coffee House

My husband rarely read my blog so it was quite a surprise when he commented yesterday that he thought that I purposely put off posting about this cafe, just because it was on the next housing area as ours. To which I'm clarifying right now that it is not true; it's just that I tend to overlook places that are nearer to us (yeah i know.. potato potato..).

We've been to this cafe often due to my parent's fondness in dining at eateries that were near to our house (they're located on the single row of shops at Ria Heights - on the same row as W&Z Cafe 3). The food in general are a hit-or-miss; it was very tasty most of the time but other times it can also be err.. 'non-satisfying'. We had tried various dishes (as seen below) but they did revamped their menu recently so some of the food might still be available and vice versa (sorry, I continuously forgot to snap their latest menu). But nevertheless my father seems to love their Nasi Ikan Boulu Goreng so much that even the waitresses know his 'usual' dish whenever we went there.

Onebucks Cafe (Version 3.0)

I never thought that I would be posting a third update on this cafe but here were are. It just goes to show that the eatery has been doing something right and it'd managed to flourished amidst the post MCO period (click HERE and HERE for my previous posts on the cafe).

So I wouldn't been commenting much on the cafe itself, other than that they have now relocated fully to the Bazhong commercial area (the front row, facing the sea). And that their menu has been updated even further with the likes of western and korean staple food, as well as broader choices for local dishes. We had their Nasi Goreng Lalap and Nasi Goreng Seafood (if I'm not mistaken since it was quite awhile that both me and my husband went to the cafe - as evident from the pics below) and both were palatable but nothing too outstanding I'm afraid. And their drink was yet again, just so-so for me. But the cafe remains popular amongst locals so it might just be my taste buds that has gone awry.
